Bakery owner, Josh Virkler, was born and raised in Ellington, CT. After a brief residency in Illinois, where he owned a successful Tea Room, he returned to Ellington with his wife and 5 children.  He first worked as an employee for the popular Farmer's Market staple, LuAnn's Bakery. Josh had a grand vision for LuAnn's which he helped bring to life in March 2017, opening the first brick-and-mortar location at 238 Somers Road in Ellington. The second location, LuAnn's Coffee and Good Eats Drive Thru, opened in 2020 and is located on West Rd in Ellington, in the Big Y Express building. In January 2022, LuAnn's Bakery Hub production facility opened at 420 Somers Road in Ellington, and is proud to also be the home of LuAnn's dedicated Gluten Free Marketplace kitchen. In August 2025, LuAnn's Bakery & Cafe joined the Stafford Springs community on Main Street there. Shortly thereafter in March 2026, LuAnn's latest Cafe opened at 190 Trumbull Street in Connecticut's capitol city, Hartford.
